Welcome

‘The best photography is ‘non photography'; by that I mean…the flow and freedom, abandon that exists naturally when the blink of the eye/lens isn't felt.

A moment of birth, child's falling-walk across a field, the impossibly elastic dancer, the calm company director, a musician's half lit chord, a simple family outing, the inert object's potential for movement as it's held…pictures can lock our attention, inspire imagination, and remember things long forgotten.'

LATEST PROJECT

I was assigned to work with Caravanserai Studio on a new advertising solution to promote the studio and their productions across the UK and Europe .

I decided to revisit the subject once close to my heart – Masks!

Following my painting exhibition in 2000 where I studied the concept, tradition and psychology of masks, I thought of approaching the idea differently for this project.

I have invited Karla from ‘kmb faces', a body paint artist, and James Layton, an actor, to form a team. Our ideas blend very easily and as a result I have produced a range of posters that scream ACT and portray the concept of ‘theatre for everyone'

Get out of your shell – ACT

Change your wardrobe – ACT

Need something new to wear – ACT

Put on an ACT

ACT

And my personal: ‘ I only come in one colour – the rest in ACT'

Autism Awareness Day June 2008

“I know that I am alive; I breathe, move, talk and function just like any other Human Being. However, I understand (because it has been said to me) that other people perceive me as being different to them. My difference expresses itself in various ways, (egocentricity, eccentricity, and emotional immaturity) but, in particular, in my uneven skill ability. Life seems to me to be like a video that I can watch, but not partake in. I sense that I live my life 'Behind Glass'. However, at times I am completely taken up with an obsession or a perception that may dominate my existence and make it easy to stay focused. For me, such times mean that I feel 'connected' to life. Life, for me, takes on meaning and purpose.”

( Life Behind Glass: A Personal Account of Autism Spectrum Disorder (1998) by Wendy Lawson)

I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Giles Foreman the director of Caravanserai Productions and Acting Studio

I spend time with two young talents from the Caravanserai Acting Studio: Merlyn Leonhardt & Robert Pekic who experiment with a book: 'On an Average Day' by John Kolvenbach

Two brothers, alienated for 23 years, are reunited in a rotting apartment, where, together, they remember a dark, shared history, which includes the mysterious disappearance of their father, in this darkly humorous tale about the nature of redemption.

John Kolvenbach lives in New York. An actor, voice-over artist and dramatist, "On an Average Day "is his first play.
